Presenters
We invite anyone in the early childhood community, including students, teachers, and administrators, to present at the Utah Early Childhood 2010 Conference. Early childhood professionals from all over Utah, Idaho, and other surrounding states gather each year for networking, renewed energy, and new ideas. We are pleased and honored that you would consider being a part of our program; you have a great depth of knowledge and experience to share with others. Hopefully you will find the information on this page to be helpful to you.
If you have filled out an “Intent to Present” form, please fill out the application online, or contact Jill Chesley-McGinnis (see contact information below) for a presenter form.
We ask that each presenter plans to facilitate two ONE-HOUR sessions. On the application, you will be asked which of the session times you prefer and the committee will try very hard to honor that request.
You are welcome to have up to four co-presenters join you for our Conference. Only the Primary Presenter and first Co-Presenter will receive free conference registration.
Handouts…
Every participant enjoys being able to take a handout away from a presentation. Although it is not required, we encourage you do put together a brief handout that provides information to those attending your session(s). Presenters are responsible for covering the cost of their handouts and are encouraged to make photocopies in advance of their arrival at the Conference.
The best way to determine how many handouts to bring is to base it on the capacity of the meeting room in which you are presenting. We do offer the option for you to upload handouts for participants prior to the Conference. When your handout is ready to upload, email your name, your presentation title, and document to Kerstin Daynes at kerstin.daynes@gmail.com. You may send Word Documents, PDFs, or PowerPoint. If you send it in a Word Document, we will change it into a PDF, so as to make it easier to download.
Conference Programs…
Our Conference Program will be sent out in January. We will have session descriptions available online.
Meeting Rooms…
The meeting room to which you will be assigned will be determined based on registration. These rooms will be assigned only weeks prior to the session. We ask that you make every effort to leave the room in better condition than you found it. Most likely, other presenters will be using the room after you, so please promptly remove your material so that the next group of presenters can set up and start on time.
Conference Day…
When you arrive on the day of the Conference, please check in at the “Presenters” booth in the lobby of the Student Center. We will have some materials, including badges, room assignments, etc.
Cancellations…
If you must cancel your presentation, please e-mail Jill Chesley-McGinnis (see information below). Cancellations are accepted from the Primary Presenter only.
